Microsoft Edge comes in second place over Firefox.

Remember that we announced earlier that Microsoft is working on a new Edge Browser based on the Chromium project to replace their old Edge browser.

The new Microsoft Edge Browser, released to Windows 10 users last January, has been ranked second among the world's most popular desktop web browsers in just three months. This web browser works for Windows 8 as well. You can download it here.

Edge takes over the runner-up position with a 7.59% market share, followed by Firefox with 7.19%, according to data NetMarketShare shared with Softpedia News. That said, Google’s Chrome still lords over the competition with a stunning 68.5% market share.

Earlier, Chrome Editor Browser and First Edge Browser were placed first, while Firefox Browser was placed third and Edge Browser second. However, the Chrome browser still holds the first place with a market share of 68.5% and the Chrome browser has not been able to beat the percentage of all other web browsers.

Even so, the most well-known Internet Explorer web browser comes with Windows 10. But we can only speculate that Microsoft Edge will be the next inbuilt web browser.

This is the first time Edge Browser has been offered to both Windows and Mac operating systems. The new browser is based on Chromium, so it is possible to use all the popular Chrome extensions and install it as the default browser on Windows.
